Chaperone Policy

Your right to have someone with you during an appointment, and how to arrange it.

You are entitled to have someone present during any consultation or treatment. You do not need to give a reason, and asking will never affect the care you receive.

Arranging One

Let the clinic know when you book, or on the day. You may bring someone with you, or ask for the appointment to be arranged so a chaperone is available.

If a chaperone cannot be arranged and you would rather not proceed without one, the appointment will be rescheduled without penalty.

Recording

Where a chaperone is present, their name and relationship to you are recorded in your notes, along with the fact that one was offered or requested.

Children At Appointments

The clinic is a treatment room rather than a waiting area, and treatments involve needles and clinical waste. Please arrange childcare where possible. If that is not practical, let the clinic know in advance so it can be discussed.

Last reviewed August 2026. Policies are reviewed annually or sooner if practice changes.
