Infection Control

How the treatment room, equipment and waste are managed so every appointment is carried out safely.

Standards

The clinic follows standard infection prevention and control precautions, applied to every client regardless of known risk. These are the same principles used in NHS practice.

The Treatment Room

  • Surfaces are cleaned between every client
  • Equipment is single use wherever possible and disposed of immediately after treatment
  • Anything reusable is decontaminated according to manufacturer instructions
  • Hand hygiene is carried out before and after every client and before any aseptic procedure
  • Gloves and appropriate protective equipment are used and changed between clients

Sharps And Waste

Needles and other sharps are placed directly into a compliant sharps container at the point of use and never resheathed. Clinical waste is segregated and collected by a licensed contractor under a duty of care.

Products And Storage

Medicines and treatment products are stored according to their requirements, including refrigeration where needed, with stock rotated and expiry dates checked. Nothing is used beyond its expiry or after its stated open-use period.

If You Are Unwell

Please do not attend if you have an active infection, a cold sore near the treatment area, or are generally unwell. Let the clinic know as early as possible and the appointment will be moved without penalty.
